Axiom appoints new staff clinical pathologist

22nd September 2015

Axiom Veterinary Laboratories has strengthened its pathology team with the appointment of Jim Klaassen as its new staff clinical pathologist.

The US pathologist is the former chief medical officer for Antech, the leading provider of pet diagnostic services in America. His expertise will support Axiom's efforts to develop new services.

During his extensive career, Dr Klaassen has worked in small animal practice, lectured in clinical pathology, undertaken preclinical research and held a number of senior roles in commercial veterinary laboratories in the US.

His appointment at Axiom will allow him to refocus his work on clinical pathology, which he describes as his "first passion".

Dan Sherry, general manager of Axiom, said: "Jim brings a wealth of experience to this important role and his extensive and varied knowledge of clinical pathology and different lab techniques is already proving helpful to colleagues and clients alike."

Based in Newton Abbott in Devon, the company has offered a clinical pathology service to the veterinary industry for more than 25 years.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801801165-ADNFCR
