Virbac launches fast-acting breath freshener for dogs

Virbac has announced the launch of Cooldent, a tablet that addresses bad breath among dogs.

The highly palatable, fast-acting tablet is formulated from natural ingredients, which help to freshen dogs’ mouths by contributing to the reduction of volatile compounds produced by bacteria, which can cause halitosis.

Bad breath is most frequently caused by a buildup of plaque and calculus on their teeth. As well as being unpleasant, it can be an indicator of more serious physical health issues.

Claire Lewis, product manager at Virbac, said: “Cooldent’s natural ingredients have an anti-plaque action and help both to maintain a balanced intestinal flora and to reduce gas production.”

This is the latest addition to the company’s comprehensive dental range, which also includes VeggieDent, an all-vegetable teeth-cleaning chew for dogs, and Vet Aquadent, an easy-to-use drinking water additive to combat dental plaque and tartar formation in dogs and cats.
