Motor Neurone Disease Association appoints new head of comms and digital
The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) has announced the appointment of The Open University's Colin Morris as its new head of comms and digital.
Mr Morris is currently group programme comms manager at The Open University, a role he has held since 2007. Prior to this, he worked as an e-commerce manager for Blackwell Publishing and Santander, reports PRWeek.
He will be based at the charity's Northampton office, where his digital expertise will play a key role in helping the MNDA to address modern challenges associated with the sharing of information.
Mr Morris said: "It's my first role in the third sector and I am looking forward to tackling the challenges all charities face."
This comes after the MNDA experienced a major windfall last year thanks to the viral social media phenomenon of the Ice Bucket Challenge, which spread across the world.
Thanks to this attention, the charity was able to raise 7.1 million pounds, whereas its entire income for the year before had been 16.8 million pounds.
