Pentax Medical makes investment in Creo Medical

25th September 2015

Pentax Medical has entered into an agreement to invest in Creo Medical, a leading British electrosurgical energy devices company.

Based in Chepstow, Creo Medical is focused on the development of microwave and radio frequency technology systems used to treat tissue resection, ablation and coagulation. Its products include the microwave and bipolar radiofrequency energy system CRoMa.

Pentax Medical has identified endoscopic therapeutic devices as a priority growth area and has purchased a stake in Creo Medical to accelerate the expansion of its footprint in this therapeutic segment.

Flexible endoscopes have been developed for use in minimally invasive treatment procedures and are gaining worldwide interest and adoption for their clinical and cost-effectiveness benefits.

David Woods, chief marketing officer at Pentax Medical, said: "We are pleased to be investing in an organisation with a proven record of innovation in a business that aligns seamlessly with Pentax Medical's cutting-edge flexible endoscopes portfolio."

This comes after Pentax Medical appointed Rainer Burkard as its new president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa region last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801801491-ADNFCR
