NHS innovations showcased to overseas health leaders
The government has provided international delegations with an opportunity to learn more about the best of British healthcare innovations.
At NHS England's recent Health and Care Innovation Expo in Manchester, UK ministers welcomed Mexico's vice minister of health and the health minister from New Delhi's regional government, allowing them to see the best of NHS innovation under one roof.
The visit also took in some of Manchester's outstanding healthcare facilities, allowing the delegates to see first-hand how clinical services are provided in the UK in both hospitals and primary care.
NHS hospital trusts including Salford Royal, Central Manchester, South Manchester and the Christie Hospital showcased their unique expertise and were able to forge new international relationships through the visits.
The visitors also explored the UK's world-leading primary care service at Boundary House Medical Centre, giving them insights into how primary care systems in their own countries can be developed.
Health secretary Jeremy Hunt and George Freeman, minister for life sciences, oversaw the occasion.
