Oxford Gene Technology launches new bladder cancer probe

12th October 2015

Oxford Gene Technology has announced the European launch of its CE-IVD labelled Cytocell Aquarius P16/3c/7c/17c Probe Kit.

This cost-effective ready-to-use fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) probe kit is designed for the non-invasive detection of bladder cancer, which is the fifth most common cancer type in Europe.

FISH methods have been shown to offer the same specificity as cytology screening, while providing greater sensitivity in detecting bladder cancer cells. The Cytocell offering accurately detects the three most common aneuploidies associated with the cancer in urine samples.

Since it contains ready-to-use reagents and offers an easy-to-use protocol, it is able to reduce the potential for errors and increase convenience.

Martin Lawrie, managing director for the Cytocell brand, said: "Supported by recent guidelines, our new bladder cancer probe kit delivers a convenient means to confident diagnoses, backed by the great customer support that Oxford Gene Technology has become renowned for."

Oxford Gene Technology serves customers in more than 60 countries worldwide.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801802883-ADNFCR
