New tech PR agency Five Zero Communications founded in Exeter

A new tech PR agency called Five Zero Communications has been established in Exeter by a pair of experienced comms professionals.

Band and Brown Communications founder Nick Band and Andrew Chatterton, former head of corporate at Storm Communications, have established the new agency with the initial aim of targeting Exeter's growing tech industries, as well as servicing a wider national and international market.

It launches with the London-based on-demand labour supplier MBA and Company as its first client, with plans for a second office to service the London market already in the works, reports PRWeek.

Having been searching for a new investment opportunity since selling Band and Brown in 2010, Mr Band will act as Five Zero's chairman, running operations from London. Mr Chatterton, meanwhile, takes on the role of managing director.

Mr Chatterton said: "When Nick and I first started talking about a startup, we wanted to offer high-value services to a growing market. Exeter ticked all the boxes and we headed west."
