Roche launches new Cobas HIV-1, HCV and HCV genotyping tests
Roche has expanded the range of molecular diagnostic assays available on the Cobas 4800 System with the addition of three new tests.
The Cobas HIV-1, HCV and HCV genotyping assays will be launched in European CE Mark territories and represent the latest generation of performance, with dual-target technology for HIV-1 and dual probe technology for hepatitis C virus identification.
All of the new virology assays can run simultaneously on the Cobas 4800 System, with optimised sample processing volumes allowing for streamlined workflows and increased flexibility for patient sample management.
With these additions, the Cobas 4800 System now has a menu of 12 high-value in vitro diagnostic assays. They will be followed in the coming months by the Cobas HBV Test.
Roland Diggelmann, chief operating officer at Roche Diagnostics, said: "With the addition of these assays to the Cobas 4800 menu, more laboratories have access to advanced virology assays that provide reliable results for confident patient management."
This comes after the firm launched its new Cobas EGFR Mutation Test v2 in Europe in September.
