Philips opens image-guided therapy simulation facility
Philips has announced the opening of a new image-guided therapy simulation facility for product design validation and end-user testing.
Located at the company's existing research and development and manufacturing facility in Best, the Netherlands, the in-house simulation facility will enhance the firm's established capabilities in image-guided therapy innovation.
With this facility, Philips seeks to enhance the experiences of its users and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its technology, particularly during critical procedures such as the minimally-invasive treatment of a heart attack or stroke.
Bert van Meurs, general manager for Philips' image-guided therapy business, said: "We have combined our expertise and activities in the field of product design validation and usability testing, and expanded the team, enabling us to validate and test throughout the product creation process from early development to final product."
During the third quarter of 2015, the company reported comparable year-on-year sales growth of two percent, and remains on track to meet its financial goals for the full year.
