Siemens to launch new Acuson NX3 ultrasound systems

Siemens is to launch two advanced new ultrasound systems, the Acuson NX3 and Acuson NX3 Elite.

Designed specifically around the way clinicians work, the mid-range systems combine a simple, intuitive interface with innovative imaging solutions for users in the fields of general medicine, obstetrics/gynaecology, paediatrics and neurology.

They offer three times more customisable keys and a faster workflow, with 28 percent fewer keystrokes, while their LED monitors and touch screens are among the largest in their class. 

The use of Clarify Vascular Enhancement technology provides multiple levels of clarification to optimise tissue contrast resolution and definition, with higher image resolution enabled by a 16 MHz transducer.

Susan Black, programme director and senior sonographer at Mercy Medical Center in Ohio, said: "The Acuson NX3 from Siemens is easy to use and easy to learn, and this helps when I'm training staff because I don't have to spend a lot of time teaching them how to use the system."
