GDC names interim chief executive

11th December 2015

The General Dental Council (GDC) has announced the appointment of Ian Brack as its new interim chief executive officer and registrar.

Mr Brack will join the organisation on January 11th 2016, serving as the temporary successor to the outgoing Evlynne Gilvarry while the search for a permanent appointment continues.

He most recently served as interim chief executive at the Office for Legal Complaints, a role that saw him oversee significant internal change, while enhancing relationships with key external stakeholders.

Prior to this, he led the Olympic Lottery Distributor, where he presided over substantial grant expenditure, including a multimillion-pound grant for the Paralympics. It means he can offer significant experience of leading complex organisations.

Dr William Moyes, chairman of the GDC, said: "I am delighted to welcome Ian to the team and I am very confident he will make a telling contribution to the work of the GDC."

Ms Gilvarry will leave the regulatory body in January, having led the organisation for more than five years.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801807973-ADNFCR
