Waters products named among leading innovations of 2015
Waters has announced that two of its products have been named among the top scientific innovations of 2015 by The Analytical Scientist magazine.
The company's Full Spectrum Molecular Imaging System and its REIMS Research System with iKnife Sampling placed first and second in the publication's annual ranking, which is compiled by an independent panel of judges.
Both products are mass spectrometry-based systems that were introduced in 2015. The Full Spectrum Molecular Imaging System is the first of its kind to combine three technologies: matrix assisted laser desorption ionisation imaging, desorption electrospray ionisation imaging and ion mobility.
Meanwhile, the REIMS Research System with iKnife Sampling features direct-from-sample ionisation alongside high-performance time-of-flight mass spectrometry and powerful, intuitive analytics, facilitating near-instantaneous data acquisition.
Art Caputo, president of Waters, said: "As proud as we are of this recognition, our focus continues to be on helping scientists reach their research goals, whether it's ensuring the safety of our food supplies or bringing life-saving medicines to patients."
This comes after the Waters Acquity QDa Detector was ranked among the magazine's innovation winners in 2013, the first year of the awards.
