Health Foundation hires former adviser to Ed Miliband
The Health Foundation has hired the former head of public services at the Labour Party, Tim Horton, as an associate director.
Mr Horton, who served as health policy adviser to previous Labour leader Ed Miliband, took up his role with the charity just before Christmas and has been tasked with overseeing its improvement, insight and analysis functions, reports PRWeek.
During his time with Labour, he led the independent Taskforce on Mental Health in Society, while prior to this he was research director at the Fabian Society, where he published research on several areas of social and economic policy.
Other previous roles include time spent as a special adviser at the Department of Trade and Industry and as a civil servant at HM Treasury, handling science and innovation policy issues.
His appointment will benefit the Health Foundation's work towards providing better healthcare for people across the country, specifically by enhancing health service delivery, making healthcare policymaking more effective, and fostering a healthier population nationwide.
