Gore launches new and improved Sterilising-Grade Vent Filters
Gore has announced the launch of its new Sterilising-Grade Vent Filters for small-scale sterile venting and gas filtration.
Representing a significantly smaller lighter option than traditional 50 mm vent filters, the new devices offer biopharmaceutical manufacturers the same airflow at a fraction of the size and weight.
Larger vent filters are known to cause tube kinking, leading to insufficient flow, while their bulk also clutters work areas and often necessitates the use of improvised solutions to support the filters.
Gore's new filters also feature an innovative ePTFE membrane technology exclusive to the manufacturer's products, which is used to deliver sterilising-grade filtration performance while achieving airflow rates comparable to those offered by larger devices.
Scott Ross, product specialist for the Gore PharmBIO filtration product portfolio, said: "These vent filters offer a distinct performance advantage due to the lighter weight, smaller size and innovative membrane, providing biopharmaceutical manufacturers with a significant upgrade from the larger conventional 50 mm vent filters for both GMP and non-GMP environments."
Earlier this month, the company announced the commencement of patient enrolment for its Gore RELINE MAX Clinical Study, a new trial assessing its Viabahn Endoprosthesis.
