Takeda to bring UK sales functions in-house

Takeda has announced that its sales teams and support resources, currently operated and managed by Ashfield Healthcare, are to be integrated into the company.

Effective as of June 1st 2016, around 70 members of these teams will officially become Takeda employees, a move that will nearly double the number of people Takeda employs in the UK.

This will impact certain members of the company's oncology and inflammatory bowel disease key account management teams, as well as the entirety of its general medicine regional account director and customer account specialist units.

Tribute was paid to the work Ashfield Healthcare has done in providing these functions and services since 2004, which was credited with playing a key role in establishing Takeda UK's market position.

Adam Zaeske, managing director for Takeda in the UK and Ireland, said: "This is an incredibly exciting time for Takeda as we transform our business as an agile, specialty care provider. This announcement is about forging one integrated team and is the latest step in that journey."

Takeda UK is based in High Wycombe and is seeking to capitalise on the strong growth opportunities it is seeing in the oncology, inflammatory bowel disease and diabetes markets.
