Agilent Technologies expands chip supply agreement with PerkinElmer
Agilent Technologies has agreed to extend its longstanding chip supply agreement with PerkinElmer.
The newly-extended deal will see PerkinElmer continue to provide chips for use in the manufacturing of Agilent's popular 2100 Bioanalyzer system, which has proven a commercial success since its introduction in 1999.
It is now considered to be an integral tool by molecular biology laboratories around the world, with applications in DNA sequencing, gene expression, DNA fragment analysis and quality control for protein-based drugs, among others.
Dr Knut Wintergerst, marketing and support manager for microfluidics at Agilent, said: "This agreement ensures that, for years to come, molecular biologists can continue to depend on the sample quality and high-fidelity data they obtain with the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system."
Agilent works with customers in more than 100 countries and generated revenues of approximately $4.04 billion (2.86 billion pounds) during the 2015 fiscal year. This is expected to increase to between $4.15 billion and $4.17 billion in 2016.
