Align Technology reports double-digit growth for 2015
Align Technology has announced its financial results for the 2015 full-year period, during which it achieved year-on-year growth of 11 percent.
Its 12-month revenue total of $845.5 million (596.05 million pounds) was attributable in large part to growing global demand for its Invisalign clear aligner range, which saw a 26 percent year-over-year sales surge in the fourth quarter.
For Q4, the company's overall sales came to $230.3 million, up 15.9 percent on the corresponding period of 2014, with increases seen in both the number of Invisalign submitters as well as the number of cases per doctor.
Joe Hogan, Align Technology president and chief executive officer, said: "Our increased growth rate reflects continued adoption and utilisation from international doctors and a solid rebound in North America, both driven by investments in territory coverage and sales and marketing programmes, including clinical education."
Meanwhile, its strong scanner revenue growth of 33 per cent exceeded expectations, with sales of the new iTero Element device accelerating rapidly.
For the first quarter of 2016, the firm expects net revenues in the range of $232.5 million to $236.6 million, with further double-digit clear aligner growth anticipated.
