MSD Animal Health launches new Pet Diabetes Tracker app

12th February 2016

MSD Animal Health has announced the launch of its new Pet Diabetes Tracker mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.

The free application helps pet owners manage their pet's diabetes by storing important health information, including blood glucose levels, food and water consumption, as well as body condition and weight.

Moreover, owners can send reports directly to a veterinary professional with the touch of a button, ensuring the vet is able to stay up to date with the pet's management plan.

The Pet Diabetes Tracker also allows owners can track the amount of insulin given to their animal, set reminders for when the next dose is needed, and even reorder insulin directly through the app to ensure doses are not missed.

Madeleine Stahl, associate director for scientific marketing affairs at MSD Animal Health, said: "I think pet owners – especially those with a newly diagnosed pet – will find this app an incredibly useful tool because it puts all the pertinent diabetic health information at their fingertips."

The prevalence of diabetes in dogs and cats ranges from at least one in 100 to one in 500, with the number of dogs diagnosed with the condition tripling during the past 30 years.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801812504-ADNFCR
