Pharmaceutical sector’s reputation growing among patients
The public image of the pharmaceutical sector is continuing to increase, a new study has revealed.
According to the latest PatientView survey, 44.7 percent of the patient groups that responded said the sector's corporate reputation is either good or excellent. This is the highest level since the survey began in 2011.
Meanwhile, nearly one in three respondents said the pharma industry's reputation has improved over the last year.
Almost three-quarters were satisfied that the products it produces are either excellent or good. However, only 15 percent felt the industry has fair pricing policies, which suggests a large proportion still feel the sector is too heavily focused on profits.
Viiv Healthcare was identified as the pharmaceutical company with the best patient reputation among patient groups, just ahead of AbbVie, Lundbeck, Janssen and Novo Nordisk.
