Revenues rise in Indian pharmaceutical sector
The Indian pharmaceutical sector has seen a further increase in revenues over the last year, new figures have revealed.
According to a report by Religare Institutional Research, the industry experienced a 12 percent growth in revenues in February 2016 year-on-year.
This was comparable to the 12.9 percent average that has been recorded since April 2015, which means volumes in the sector are steady.
New product launches and sustained healthy price hikes were also said to be driving growth in the Indian pharma sector's revenues.
Anti-diabetic treatments were identified as a particularly strong growth area during February 2016, while the gastrointestinal, derma and cardiac sectors also did well throughout this period.
