BIOTRONIK’s new cardiac monitor available in UK & Ireland

BIOTRONIK, has announced that its BioMonitor 2 heart monitor is now available for patients throughout the UK and Ireland. 

The monitor from the leading company in cardio- and endovascular medical technology is a unique insertable device that allows for accurate and reliable continuous detection of cardiac electrical events.

Suitable for patients who suffer from otherwise unexplained syncope – a condition which sees the sufferer pass out due to the lack of blood flowing to the brain, the device also detects for atrial fibrillation (AF).

AF is well known as being a difficult-to-diagnose irregular heartbeat condition and it's similarly difficult to find the cause of syncope.

Both of these illnesses have the potential to be life threatening if they are left undiagnosed. However, the BioMonitor 2 can be inserted under the skin of a patient in a simple procedure and the data collected gives a physician accurate mapping of the heart's activity to a BIOTRONIK Home Monitoring screen.
