Virbac launches support pack ahead of new dog microchipping laws
Virbac has launched a new support pack to assist vet practices and dog owners in preparing for the imminent introduction of compulsory microchipping laws for domestic canines.
To help practices engage with this initiative, which takes effect from April, a Compulsory Microchipping Support Pack has been put together to raise awareness of the importance of microchipping, as well as detailing the new legislation in England, Scotland and Wales.
Included in the pack are a customisable poster, a large display for windows and doors, colour-coordinated bunting and balloons, and ornaments for shelves or reception desks to remind clients to book microchipping appointments.
The pack will also serve to promote Virbac's BackHome Mini Chip, which can be implanted with a needle one-third smaller than standard offerings.
Sarah Walker, product manager for BackHome, said: "We want to help practices and the teams working within them to engage with the public in their vicinity and help to drive practice footfall."
The company is seeking to raise awareness of the new law following numerous reports in the media showing a significant proportion of dogs are not yet microchipped.
