Nestle establishes new non-prescription acne joint venture
Nestle Skin Health has announced the formation of a new non-prescription acne joint venture with Guthy-Renker, a leading direct marketing company.
The deal will see Nestle acquire a majority stake in the joint venture, which will be focused on the global consumer acne market. It remains subject to competition authority clearances and other customary closing conditions.
Guthy-Renker has a broad distribution network that encompasses television, digital, direct mail and other retail channels. Its portfolio of consumer brands includes Proactiv, the world's leading non-prescription acne brand, as well as dozens of other products in the beauty, skincare, entertainment and wellness categories.
A company statement said: "The new venture will unite Nestle Skin Health's science-based innovation and expertise in skin health with Guthy-Renker's consumer insights and digital expertise under the Proactiv brand."
This comes after Nestle Skin Health acquired certain assets of the Inneov Group and established a new skin health products factory in Brazil last year.
