Baxter hails new mobile health application

15th April 2016

Baxter International is confident its new mobile health application will have a positive impact on public health.

The tool has been designed to allow community health workers better monitor the health status of underprivileged women at every stage of their pregnancy.

Furthermore, the app might be useful in helping to immunise children aged two and below in impoverished parts of Bangalore.

Anish Bafna, region head for Emerging Asia at Baxter, commented: "'Baxter’s efforts to increase access to healthcare extend beyond donations in underserved communities, and the development of the mobile health application exemplifies our commitment to improving community health at the root level."

He added that this is a big step forward in making sure women recognise when to seek medical care and improving overall household preventative health measures.

Baxter and the Baxter International Foundation are complementing this work by collaborating with public and private partners across the globe, as part of a wider effort to expand access to healthcare and boost innovation in the sector.
