Axol Bioscience adds new scientific advisory board member

Axol Bioscience has announced the appointment of Dr Steve Finkbeiner as the latest addition to its scientific advisory board.

Dr Finkbeiner is renowned for his research in neurodegenerative conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Huntington's, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. He is the inventor of a robotic imaging device to elucidate the mechanisms behind learning, memory formation and neurodegeneration.

Currently, he serves as associate director and senior investigator at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease, professor of neurology and physiology at the University of California San Francisco and director at the Taube/Koret Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research.

In his role at Axol, he will help to expand its range of induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural cells and culture systems.
