BD launches new low-temperature sterilisation containers

28th April 2016

BD has announced the launch of its new Genesis low-temperature rigid sterilisation container system.

To be made commercially available later this spring, the system is validated for the latest low-temperature sterilisation processes and market-leading platforms such as the V-Pro Low Temperature Sterilization Systems from Steris and the Sterrad Systems from Advanced Sterilization Products.

The new containers have a visually differentiated set of orange components to quickly and easily differentiate them from Genesis containers intended for other processes. The line offers long-lasting protection and sterility maintenance for surgical instrumentation.

A variety of sizes are on offer to help organise and secure instruments prior to surgery, with Genesis containers also providing an environmentally-friendly alternative to sterilisation wrap.

Jim Leitl, worldwide vice-president and general manager for infection prevention at BD's V Mueller and interventional specialties business units, said: "We will continue to extend our leadership in sterilisation containers and surgical instrumentation through innovations that positively impact both clinical and financial outcomes."

Last week, the company completed the sale of its vertebral augmentation solutions business to Stryker, a move that will help it to further refine the focus of its operations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801817547-ADNFCR
