Avacta to provide support for UK dog rescue charity

12th May 2016

Avacta has marked Pet Allergy Week by announcing that it will be providing sponsorship and support for Yorkshire and Midlands-based Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

The company has agreed to provide ongoing free allergy testing to the dog rescue charity, making it possible to test any dog believed to have an allergy, rather than only animals with serious issues.

This will help the organisation to rehome more of its animals, as the new owners can be briefed on which foods to avoid, instead of thinking they will need to buy expensive specialised diets.

Avacta's head of marketing Joanne Soundy said: "We hope that by supporting Jerry Green, we can help animals that need support but where funding can be difficult."

Pet Allergy Week will run from June 6th to 12th with the aim of helping veterinary practices to raise awareness of allergies in cats and dogs. Particularly, efforts will focus on examining pets whose owners may be unaware they are suffering, and who may benefit from testing followed by recommendations for appropriate treatment and management.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801818352-ADNFCR
