Waters launches new Xevo TQ-XS benchtop mass spectrometer

16th May 2016

Waters has announced the launch of its new Xevo TQ-XS mass spectrometer, a new benchtop tandem quadrupole instrument.

Designed to be the most sensitive device in its class, it offers a unique combination of ion optics, detection and ionisation technologies, as well as incorporating StepWave XS ion guide capabilities.

This allows it to remove neutral species and transmit ions in a more focused beam to the detector by incorporating segmented quadrupole transfer optics in the second stage. As such, its signal-to-noise ratio is improved, with sustained robustness over thousands of injections.

Other key features of the new spectrometer include the XDR Detector photomultiplier detection system, which is capable of quantifying sample compounds across a concentration range of six orders of magnitude, and the novel, proprietary UniSpray ionisation source.

Gary Harland, senior director for mass spectrometry product management at Waters, said: "Today's customers need to carry out reproducible quantitative studies and reach lower limits of quantification with an instrument that is accessible to all users. With this new mass spectrometer, our product designers pioneered some ingenious electronic and mechanical advances."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801818519-ADNFCR
