Virbac launches new Effipro Duo Spot-on solution for cats and dogs

Virbac has announced the launch of a new POM-V product providing cats and dogs with protection against ticks and fleas, particularly in the case of household flea infestations.

The Effipro Duo Spot-on solution features a combination of the insect growth regulator pyriproxyfen and the adulticide fipronil. It allows adult fleas and ticks to be sterilised or killed without requiring a blood meal, while inhibiting immature life stages to offer three months of protection against flea life-cycle completion.

It is delivered via the patented Effipro drop-lock pipette, which ensures that the solution is released only when the owner is ready and provides precise fingertip control.

Virbac will offer Effipro Duo Spot-on in packs of four pipettes, as well as in a 24-pipette dispensing pack to suit practices offering health plans.

The company already offers one of the most extensive parasiticide ranges on the market. It took over distribution of the topical ectoparasiticide range Activyl, used for parasite control in dogs and cats, earlier this year.
