Carestream Dental’s CS 3600 accepted by American Board of Orthodontics

29th June 2016

Carestream Dental has announced that scans captured by its CS 3600 intraoral scanner are now being accepted by the American Board of Orthodontics.

The CS 3600 product was developed using current standards for examinations laid out by the organisation, and is designed to capture highly accurate digital scans to ensure that appliances fit securely and comfortably.

It allows practitioners to capture high-definition 3D images digitally, rather than using the 'goo' associated with traditional impressions. This eliminates the need for using impression material, pouring moulds or waiting for stone models to set.

The device's high-speed, continuous scanning feature also means that an unsteady hand or the movements of younger patients have no effect on the final scan result.

Matt Hendrickson, director of orthodontic business at Carestream Dental, said: "The CS 3600 is a major evolution in capturing digital impressions and introduces a new and innovative workflow for orthodontists."

CS 3600 device has been tested for accuracy by ClearCorrect and is accepted for use with all ClearCorrect products.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801821061-ADNFCR
