Mawdsleys chosen as third-party logistics service provider for Daiichi Sankyo

Mawdsleys' Pre-Wholesale business has been selected as the third-party logistics service provider of choice by Daiichi Sankyo UK.

The Japan-based pharmaceutical company has handed Mawdsleys the contract after initially approaching it in January 2016, seeking a flexible and cost-effective pre-wholesale distributor with a high efficiency performance. 

Mawdsleys was subsequently able to successfully integrate Daiichi Sankyo's SAP IT systems with Mawdsleys' own IT software to create a complete order-to-cash service, while delivering a seamless transition of stock from Daiichi Sankyo's previous service provider within a month.

As such. Daiichi Sankyo was able to provide continual service from week one and rapidly fulfil orders across their portfolio. Costs were reduced without limiting service levels, while customer communications have been enhanced.

A statement from Daiichi Sankyo said: "We consistently experience a highly professional manner and have no apprehensions in the services we have come to rely on."

This comes after Mawdsleys became the sole distributor for all Ranbaxy contracted products into the UK hospital sector earlier this year.
