Siemens wins supply contract with Birmingham NHS trust

Siemens Healthineers has won a cooperation contract worth 50 million euros (42.64 million pounds) with the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.

Over the next decade, Siemens has been tasked with providing four of the trust's hospital sites with a comprehensive suite of management services and solutions for all of its medical imaging equipment.

Additionally, experts from Siemens will help to optimise the hospitals' processes and design technology roadmaps to ensure the sites is always making use of the most relevant and up-to-date technology.

The contract includes the provision, renewal and maintenance of imaging equipment, with financing, professional services, room planning, training for clinical users and onsite technical support also set to be provided.

It is hoped that this deal will help to increase the quality of care and improve clinical outcomes for patients, while supporting the trust's vision of becoming the best-integrated care organisation in the NHS.
