Philips launches DreamMapper service for sleep apnoea patients

11th July 2016

Philips has announced the UK launch of DreamMapper, a new app and website designed to help improve therapy adherence among people living with sleep apnoea.

Part of the Philips Dream Family portfolio, the DreamMapper service provides tools and real-time tracking and analysis of positive airway pressure therapy. It works by correlating and analysing data on therapy usage, mask fit and apnoea hypopnea index readings.

Functioning in tandem with other Philips Dream Family products such as the DreamStation sleep therapy system and the DreamWear minimal contact nasal mask, DreamMapper helps users set personal therapy goals and offers troubleshooting support and instructional videos.

This has the potential to reduce NHS clinician contact time, while putting patients in greater control of their own conditions.

Bernadette Coleman from Philips said: "We're very excited about the potential of DreamMapper to enable people living with sleep apnoea to take control of their own care by supporting them with technology that's integrated into their therapy."

This comes after the firm recently announced the acquisition of PathXL, a Northern Ireland-based leader in digital pathology image analysis, workflow software and educational tools.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801821622-ADNFCR
