Thermo Fisher Scientific and DuPont extend distribution deal

Thermo Fisher Scientific and DuPont Nutrition and Health have agreed to renew their existing distribution deal for western Europe.

The renewed agreement will see Thermo Fisher maintain exclusive supply of the DuPont BAX System Q7 platform in the region for at least the next three years, while the firm will also continue to supply the system exclusively in Australia and New Zealand and non-exclusively in Canada under separate deals.

Originally signed 14 years ago, the agreement made Thermo Fisher one of the first companies to offer customers rapid means of detecting pathogens in foods, allowing action to be taken sooner and products released at an accelerated pace.

Thermo Fisher will continue to offer the DuPont BAX System Q7 platform for foodborne pathogen detection alongside its own Thermo Scientific real-time PCR solutions, providing the broadest possible choice of molecular food tests.
