Boston Scientific names new board member
Boston Scientific has announced the appointment of Yoshiaki Fujimori to its board of directors with immediate effect.
Mr Fujimori is an experienced business leader who currently serves as an adviser to the Lixil Group, where he previously fulfilled the role of president and chief executive officer between 2011 and 2016.
Prior to joining Lixil, Mr Fujimori spent 25 years with GE in positions such as senior vice-president and chief executive officer of a number of Asian and global business divisions, including medical systems, plastics and capital.
The veteran businessman also serves as an external director for Tokyo Electric Power Company and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited.
Mike Mahoney, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Boston Scientific, said: "Fujimori-san is an accomplished business leader and brings significant insights on how large companies plan, execute and compete globally to our board."
This comes after the firm made a number of changes to the composition of its board earlier this year, with former company chairman and co-founder Pete Nicholas stepping down after a 37-year association with Boston Scientific.
