Pentax Medical launches new video processor for gastrointestinal imaging

21st July 2016

Pentax Medical has announced the launch of its new DEFINA GI EPK-3000 imaging system in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The high-definition video processor is optimised for highly detailed endoscopic imaging of the gastrointestinal tract and incorporates i-scan image processing technology to cost-effectively deliver the best possible image quality.

Key benefits include its strong visualisation of gastrointestinal mucosal structures and dynamic range expansion to enhance far-field illumination, brightening distant darker areas on the endoscopic image.

The device is also optimised for ease of use, with its i-scan buttons placed on a user-friendly control panel for ease of access, while its compact, lightweight and ergonomic design makes it easy to incorporate into an existing clinical environment.

Rainer Burkard, EMEA president of Pentax Medical, said: "The illumination and image quality that the new processor cost-effectively delivers outshines standard-definition imaging to provide greater depth and boost far-field visualisation for enhanced diagnostics."

Using this system will make it easier for clinicians to achieve faster detection, easier demarcation and characterisation of gastrointestinal lesions, supporting improved patient outcomes.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801822219-ADNFCR
