Zoetis launches digital tool to aid EGUS diagnosis

Zoetis has announced the launch of a new interactive digital tool to help vets diagnose equine gastric ulceration syndrome (EGUS) more easily.

The tool makes it easier for vets to map the area affected by gastric disease and record details in an accessible format. This information can then be shared easily with the client, together with treatment and management recommendations.

It comes as part of a broader package of support materials that also include posters and text messages, all designed to help veterinary practices raise awareness of gastric ulcers among horse owners.

EGUS can have a serious impact on equine health and performance and can be life-threatening among younger animals. The condition affects any type of hose and can be hard to diagnose, as clinical signs are often vague and elusive.

The launch of the new digital tool also helps Zoetis to promote its own EGUS solution UlcerGold, which is indicated to treat and prevent the recurrence of gastric ulcers in horses.
