Thermo Fisher Scientific launches Syntri Arcos block archiving system
Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of a new block archiving system designed to improve patient sample safety and reduce the potential of lost blocks.
The Thermo Scientific Syntri Arcos block archiving system is designed for anatomical pathology professionals and provides user-friendly software for block archiving and management.
Key advantages include its ability to keep an accurate record of where blocks are located when patient samples are sent out for second opinions or pulled out of archiving for additional testing.
Blocks are placed in trays after sectioning, allowing the system to automatically read their barcodes and record where each tray is stored, without the need to manually sort the blocks into numerical sequence.
Additionally, the compact design of the Syntri Arcos system means it can fit neatly into the workflow of all sizes of laboratory.
Andreas Kaepplein, director of marketing for Thermo Fisher Scientific's anatomical pathology division, said: "The Thermo Scientific Syntri Arcos system … adds to the Thermo Scientific drive to help customers improve their workflow, reduce costs and improve error rates."
