Philips and Qualcomm announced connected healthcare collaboration
Philips and Qualcomm have announced a new strategic technology collaboration with the aim of advancing standards of connected healthcare.
The companies will be teaming up to provide scalable connected care solutions and services, leveraging Philips' connected health informatics and regulated healthcare cloud data management and analytics capabilities, as well as Qualcomm Life's expertise in secure, medical-grade device connectivity and integration.
Qualcomm Life's 2net Platform will serve as the medical device connectivity solution for the Philips HealthSuite cloud-enabled health ecosystem, while Philips will also leverage the 2net Platform to connect both Philips and third-party medical devices.
Additionally, Qualcomm Life will make use of Philips HealthSuite as a global secure data management and storage solution for the 2net Platform, allowing Qualcomm Life to gain access to new data management capabilities.
Jeroen Tas, chief executive officer for connected care and health informatics at Philips, said: "By collaborating with Qualcomm Life and leveraging its connectivity and wireless expertise, we aim to help care providers to engage better with their patients and contribute to the goal of improving outcomes."
