Norbrook awards prize to Skipton vet as part of Spotinor display competition
Norbrook Laboratories has announced the winner of its Spotinor Summer Display Competition, a scheme organised to promote the benefits of its parasiticide product for livestock.
The contest invited customers to create a sheep and cattle fly control display in store early in the fly season in order to help provide farmers with guidance on their fly control plans and the need to treat their herds and flocks early.
Laura Robinson from Carrs Billington, Skipton, was awarded vouchers to the value of 300 pounds for her winning Spotinor display, with the company observing a broadly positive response from many stores and practices.
The aims of the competition was to help Norbrook promote the benefits of Spotinor, an oily solution used to treat and prevent infestations by lice and flies on cattle, as well as protecting against ticks, lice, keds and established blowfly strike on sheep, and lice and ticks on lambs.
Steph Small, veterinary advisor for Norbrook, said: "The combination of hot UK summer days, periodic rainfall and humid conditions offer flies the perfect breeding ground. Farmers can avoid costly infestations and herd losses by treating animals early."
