PerkinElmer announces changes to organisational structure

PerkinElmer is realigning its organisational structure into two new business segments in order to make the running of the company more efficient and profitable.

The restructuring will see the firm's diagnostics business – which is focused on reproductive health, emerging market diagnostic solutions and applied genomics – become a standalone business segment, led by Prahlad Singh.

Meanwhile, its environmental health and life science solutions businesses will combine to form the new discovery and analytical solutions division, led by Jim Corbett. This will help the company better meet the needs of applications-oriented customers in the food, environmental, industrial and life sciences markets.

PerkinElmer states that these changes will help the company to pursue growth and expand its market share more effectively through an improved customer focus, greater scope for collaboration and the encouragement of innovations.
