Portland appoints new health division director

Portland has announced the addition of Daniel Beach to its senior team as director of its Portland Health division.

Mr Beach brings more than 20 years of healthcare communications experience to the role and joins the agency from Ketchum, where he has served as a director since March 2015.

Prior to his time with Ketchum, Mr Beach held director-level roles at DBHC Consulting, the Atrial Fibrillation Association and Just Health Communications, while he also previously served as head of communications for Medtronic's UK business.

In his new role, he will support pharmaceutical and medical technology clients, leveraging his experience of advising major international companies on issues such as changes to the NHS and the uptake of new medicines and market access strategies.

Dr Jane Brearley, partner and head of health at Portland, said: "Daniel complements the existing senior team expertise with extensive global communications experience and invaluable insights from his in-house and patient advocacy roles."

The agency has also appointed John Clarke as its new associate director for policy and public affairs.
