Simplyhealth boss named large company director of the year

Simplyhealth's chief executive Romana Abdin has been recognised as large company director of the year for 2016.

At the Institute of Directors' (IOD's) Director of the Year UK final, Ms Abdin was presented with the accolade in honour of her history of strong work at the forefront of leadership excellence.

This comes after the Simplyhealth boss was previously named as the IOD's London and south-east director of the year for a company with an annual turnover in excess of 300 million pounds.

Romana Abdin, chief executive at Simplyhealth, said: "I am honoured to receive the award amongst a highly competitive field and would like to share it with my colleagues at Simplyhealth."

Simplyhealth is the UK's leading health cash plan provider, as well as the owner of the dental insurance brand Denplan. It serves around 3.5 million customers nationwide and works with communities on a number of initiatives, donating 1.4 million pounds to charitable causes last year.
