Siemens Healthineers launches new Artis pheno angiography system
Siemens Healthineers has launched its new robot-supported Artis pheno angiography system, a new robotic-assisted operating room solution.
Designed for minimally-invasive surgery, interventional radiology and interventional cardiology applications, the system offers high-end image quality through a combination of its zen40HDR flat panel detector and the Gigalix X-ray tube technology, while the resolution for 2D imaging is four times higher than previous Siemens Healthineers systems.
Meanwhile, its StructureScout feature allows imaging parameters to be adapted to best suit the material structure of the area being X-rayed, thereby minimising radiation doses.
The Artis pheno system is also designed to support the treatment of multimorbid patients, meaning it can be fitted with different optional software applications to aid the management of complex cases.
Professor Frank Wacker, director of the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Hanover Medical School, said: "Shorter scan times help reduce the amount of iodinated contrast agent during 3D angiography in the thorax and abdomen by up to 15 percent."
The technology was demonstrated to attendees of the recent German Congress for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, which ran from October 25th to 28th.
