Mawdsleys to support hospitals in delivering on Carter recommendations

Mawdsleys is offering a suite of services to NHS hospitals to help them meet efficiency targets laid out by the Carter review from earlier this year.

Published in February 2016, Lord Carter's report assessed current efficiency performance among UK healthcare providers and identified scope for hospitals to standardise their procedures, improve transparency and work more closely with neighbouring NHS trusts.

Responding to this review, Mawdsleys' hospital team has spent several months consulting with individual hospitals to gain a better understanding of the support needed for hospitals to meet these targets.

Having identified that each hospital has specific needs and capabilities, it is now offering a range of personalised services, helping facilities reduce their stockholding, monitor supply levels online, reduce wastage, outsource non-clinical functions, increase use of biosimilars and transition to a seven-day service model.

Mawdsleys has also confirmed that it is working to develop a number of enhanced service offerings in future to further assist these goals, including an improved website, a better invoicing system and a new monthly suite of reports.
