Siemens Healthineers announces takeover of Conworx Technology

Siemens Healthineers has announced the acquisition of Conworx Technology, a deal that will expand its informatics capabilities in the field of point-of-care testing.

Conworx is a Berlin-based developer of point-of-care device interfaces and data management solutions, offering a suite of products that include brands such as UniPOC and POCcelerator.

These products will complement Siemens Healthineers existing offerings, including the award-winning RAPIDComm Data Management System, and will help to deliver open connectivity for more than 100 different instruments from all major manufacturers.

Conworx's team of 75 employees has now been merged with the Siemens Healthineers team to form a new-look unit called Siemens Healthineers Point-of-Care Informatics.

This team consists of interface development, application development and data management specialists led by Roman Rosenkranz, the chief executive officer of Conworx Technology prior to the acquisition.

Peter Koerte, president of the point-of-care diagnostics division of Siemens Healthineers, said: "We are determined to continue Conworx's practice of working closely with every vendor to ensure that all connected analyzers are working to the best of their ability."

Siemens recently confirmed that the Siemens Healthineers division is set to be publicly listed as part of an effort to drive further growth for the business.
