Beckman Coulter launches new microbiology systems in UK

1st December 2016

Beckman Coulter has announced the UK launch of its new DxN Veris and MicroScan systems for microbiology applications.

These automated systems are designed to help ease rapidly increasing workloads in microbiology and virology departments, in order to streamline laboratory workflows and reduce the time involved in patient therapy diagnoses.

The DxN Veris system is intended for use in same-day molecular viral load testing, while the MicroScan offerings facilitate microorganism identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, helping to rapidly identify therapeutic pathways for patient management.

Duncan Whittaker, laboratory manager for virology at the Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, said: "The DxN Veris is the kind of instrumentation that will help the laboratory to meet long-term goals for improved services with faster turnaround times and greater productivity."

Beckman Coulter marked the UK launch of the systems with a showcase event that gave attendees the opportunity to speak to individuals using the new automated platforms, evaluate results and bring their queries to a team of technical experts.

This is the first in a planned series of educational events designed to provide a platform for interested parties to learn about new technologies from the company.
