Agilent opens new technology centre in California

Agilent Technologies has announced the opening of a new $14.7 million (11.6 million pounds) technology centre in Folsom, California, spanning 53,000 sq ft.

Housing around 60 new staff members, the site will offer a state-of-the-art customer applications laboratory and collaboration space, as well as facilities for providing scientific consumables and supplies.

The Folsom facility is expected to play a key role in supporting the supply of Agilent's innovative new Intuvo 9000 gas chromatography system and consumables products, which represent an important offering for the company.

Henrik Ancher-Jensen, Agilent's president of order fulfilment and supply chain, said: "This new facility expands Agilent's capabilities for chromatography consumables and hardware, which are used in laboratories around the world and for critical health, safety and product quality decisions."

By opening the new centre, the company hopes to be able to better support customers working in laboratories worldwide, with its products used in areas from cancer research to testing the quality and safety of food, water and pharmaceuticals.
