Merck launches new Milliplex MAP Human High Sensitivity cytokine panel
Merck has announced the launch of a new Milliplex high-sensitivity panel to help accelerate the cytokine assay process.
The Milliplex MAP Human High Sensitivity cytokine panel allows researchers to achieve four times higher throughput than traditional assays, while using smaller sample sizes, as well as being the first 384-well kit for use with the Luminex Flexmap 3D platform.
It allows researchers to simultaneously measure multiple protein biomarkers in a single sample, collating up to 366 data points per plate in the same time it would take to run a 96-well plate.
Requiring less than ten micrometres per sample, the panel will be of great use to academic centres, contract research organisations and biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies.
Jason Apter, head of research solutions strategic marketing and innovation for Merck's life sciences division, said: "The availability of validated 384-well kits is an important new tool for customers with limited sample volumes who require high throughput, specificity and selectivity."
The company also recently announced the launch of Parteck MXP, a polyvinyl alcohol-based excipient that enhances solubility of a wide range of active pharmaceutical ingredients with poor bioavailability.
