Bristol-Myers Squibb adds new partners to International Immuno-Oncology Network

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced the addition of two new partners to its International Immuno-Oncology Network (II-ON).

Columbia University Medical Center and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre have become the latest organisations to join the global peer-to-peer collaborative network, which allows Bristol-Myers Squibb to work with academia to advance immuno-oncology science.

With these two additions, the number of leading academic institutions taking part in the project has risen to 15.

Nils Lonberg, head of oncology biology discovery at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "We are proud to collaborate with Columbia University Medical Center and Peter Mac, and together with the entire II-ON will continue to lead pioneering research and heighten our collective understanding of the science behind immuno-oncology."

Launched in 2012 by Bristol-Myers Squibb, the II-ON was one of the first networks to bring academia and industry together around this therapeutic area. More than 250 investigators are working on over 150 projects across 20 tumour types.

Cutting-edge data generated through the collaboration has informed the development of new immuno-oncology agents, led to groundbreaking publications and produced some of the earliest findings on a variety of biomarkers and target identification and validation.
